Uweb Roundtable on Current Trends in Tech

by Ash on June 16th, 2011

UPDATE:

Thank you to our panelists and our guests for coming out to discuss the current trends in tech.  We recorded the entire discussion for your viewing pleasure.

Web Communications and New Media are holding a roundtable discussion this Friday, June 17, 2011, from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m., in GL 835, on the current trends happening in technology today. We will be covering topics such as:

  • Mobile SitesCurrent Trends in Tech icon
  • QR Codes & Microsoft Tags
  • FBML, iFrames & HTML on Facebook Pages
  • SMS/Text Messaging
  • Social Media Strategies
  • HTML5 & CSS3
  • AJAX vs. JQuery

We will also cover the best practices for implementing a New Media strategy and why it may not be necessary for everyone to adopt these trends. This event is an open and judgement-free discussion – not just a room full of tech-savvy nerds - so use this opportunity to ask the questions that you may have been afraid to ask in the past.

We will be streaming this event live via our Ustream channel: http://www.ustream.tv/channel/fiu-uweb-meetup and will post the recorded broadcast after the discussion has ended.
